Not to leave you starving for tunes during the day – the good people of Clarksdale have banded together to provide outdoor busking spots for your FREE entertainment! Cat Head Delta Blues & Folk Art will have a stage outside on Delta avenue in downtown Clarksdale, as will the Rock and Blues Museum around the corner on 2nd Street. Have a wander around and take it all in, stopping at our various blues markers around town. Soak up some tunes and some history all at once in the perfect fall weather.
Along with the two stages and schedules pictured, there will be a busking stage outside of the Blues Alley Cafe, also on Delta Ave. Mark ‘Porkchop’ Holder and MPH will be featured on Friday, October 13th at 1pm, and again on Saturday, October 14th at 4pm.
Shacksdale, across the train tracks from the Shack Up Inn (we’ve never quite determined which is the ‘wrong side’) will also have free daytime music on two porch stages. The Jeff Norwood Memorial Stage is sponsored by the Mt. Zion Memorial Fund, which is dedicated to ‘keeping the blues alive’ by preserving rural markers in remote cemeteries of bluesmen past. Show your support with your presence at these performances from 11am-5pm daily during the weekend of Deep Blues Festival 2017!
We appreciate y’all in making this 10th anniversary of the Deep Blues Festival the best year yet! Ingredients: good music, good people, good times – and cold beer, of course. Please stay safe, and drive responsibly.
The team thanks you deeply!
